Unexpected Rain

On 25th August 2012, heavy rains lashed New Delhi accompanied by thunder and lightening. Hindustan Times reported, "Delhi came to a standstill after heavy rain lashed the city, choking drains and leaving large sections of major arterial routes waterlogged. The maximum temperature dropped by three degrees Celsius to settle at 30.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was a degree below normal at 25.5 degrees Celsius. With the city having recorded 13.7 mm of average rainfall over the last 24 hours, --- Met department has predicted a generally cloudy sky with few spells of rain or thundershowers" (http://www.hindustantimes.com/India-news/NewDelhi/Coming-up-for-Delhi-cloudy-sky-rain/Article1-919422.aspx). If weather was in such a mood, what could lesser mortals stuck at home do other than let the mind wander as only it knows how to do, scribble a few lines, even minimally coherent, in an obscure language in this part of the world?
