The body limps;
And drags itself to places
It does not want to go.
The mind is imprisoned
With images of the past
Preferred to be forgotten;
Fears of the future
That may not exist
Gushes in.
Anxiety pervades
The body and soul;
Desire is expelled
Into remote corners
Of the sub-conscience.
Imagination trots
And refuses to soar.
Life exists
As if it does not.
